How to Download and Play Silent Hill: Townfall on Steam

Availability note — September 22, 2026: KONAMI lists the standard release for September 24, 2026. Store unlock times can vary by region and edition. If Steam shows an unlock countdown, wait for the time displayed by Steam.

What you need

• A Windows PC that meets the requirements shown on the Steam store page.
• A Steam account.
• The Steam desktop client.
• Enough storage space on the drive where you plan to install the game.
• A stable internet connection.

Step 1: Install Steam

If Steam is not installed yet:

1. Go to the official Steam website.
2. Download the Steam installer.
3. Run the installer.
4. Open Steam.
5. Sign in or create an account.

Step 2: Open the Silent Hill: Townfall store page

In the Steam client, open Store and search for:

SILENT HILL: Townfall

Check that the developer/publisher information matches the official release before purchasing.

Step 3: Purchase or pre-purchase the game

Choose the edition you want and complete checkout.

After payment, the game should be attached to your Steam account and appear in Library.

Step 4: Open your Steam Library

At the top of the Steam client, select:

Library

Find SILENT HILL: Townfall in the list on the left and open its library page.

If you have many games, use the Library search box.

Step 5: Select Install

Select Install on the game’s Library page.

Steam will ask where to install the game.

1. Choose a Steam library drive with enough free space.
2. Confirm the installation.
3. Let Steam download the required files.

You can monitor progress from the Downloads section at the bottom of the Steam client.

Step 6: Let Steam finish updates and verification

Steam normally applies required launch files and updates automatically.

Wait until the Library page shows the game as fully installed.

If an update is queued, allow that update to complete before launching.

Step 7: Launch the game

When the game is unlocked for your edition and region, the Library button changes to Play.

Select:

Play

Steam may perform a first-time setup before the game window opens.

If Steam says the game is not released yet

That usually means one of these is true:

• The standard regional unlock time has not arrived.
• Your edition does not include early access.
• Steam needs to refresh the entitlement after the release time.

Try fully exiting Steam and reopening it after the listed unlock time.

If the game is missing from Library

1. Confirm you are using the Steam account that purchased it.
2. Search the Library for Townfall.
3. Check Account Details → View purchase history.
4. Restart Steam.
5. Use Steam Support if the purchase exists but the license does not appear.
